While the stub installer (web installer) for Firefox Nightly (Windows) is still making the rounds in the news, Mozilla already pushed things a bit further and made the streamlined installation available for Firefox 16, which is currently in beta.

The new installer looks exactly the same as we reported when it first emerged for the nightly build, and has yet to be modified to reflect that it’s going to put Firefox beta on the system.

However, after installation, a simple check in the about section of the browser clears things up, showing that you have Firefox 16 and are on the beta update channel.

Firefox 16 beta is scheduled to move to stable tomorrow and it remains to be seen if the new installer struts along, too.
