Windows 10 is going to bring together PC, tablet, and smartphone SKUs of Windows, so leaked versions reaching the web these days are hiding quite a lot of gems regarding the updates we could get on Windows Phone.

For instance, the exploding live tiles that we told you about last week are very likely to make it to Windows Phone 10, and there’s a reference to this particular feature in Windows 10 build 9901 that confirms it.

As WMPU notes today, the API points to fly-out tiles, which would work very similarly to exploding tiles that were initially expected to debut on Nokia McLaren.

Exploding tiles would require users to move a finger above the screen without actually touching the display in order to break the target tiles in multiple pieces capable of performing certain tasks.

Windows Phone 10 is very likely to hit the market in preview form next month, during the Windows 10 press event scheduled for January 21. As far as the stable version is concerned, people close to the matter explained that Windows Phone 10 might launch at about the same time as the desktop version, in early fall 2015.

More details on this, however, will be provided later in 2015, as developed of the new mobile OS advances.
