Beautiful Pictures Free is an application aimed at Windows 8 users that comes with, just like its name suggests, a freeware license.

The Windows 8 Windows Store, however, listed the app with a price tag of $999.99 (€778) due to what appears to be a mistake of a Microsoft employee in charge with the Store.

As NeoWin.net writes, the application is actually a freeware utility supposed to help users download background images from Microsoft’s very own Bing search engine.

The app is once again listed as freeware at the time of this writing, so it seems that it was all just a minor accident.

The most expensive app in the Store remains the Windows 8 medical app EMR Surface which comes with a price tag of $499.99 (€390).
