Microsoft knows that desktop customization remains one of the top priorities for all Windows users out there and, since we’re getting closer to the Christmas holidays, the company has released a brand new “winter” theme.

The so-called “Swedish Winter Theme” comes with “a collection of images taken in Sweden during winter time by photographer Hans Strand,” as Microsoft explains in the description of the software.

The theme is free for download for all users and it works not only on Windows 7, but also on the brand new Windows 8.

What’s more, it can be deployed on both 32- and 64-bit operating systems. Installation takes just a couple of seconds, as users are only required to download the theme and double-click it to initiate the auto-installation process.
