Google updated the beta release for Chrome browser to a new major version. The latest build, 25.0.1364.29, is currently available for all supported platforms (WindowsMacLinux and Chrome Frame).

Among the big changes is the introduction of Web Speech API for developers, which is bound to expand the functionality of the browser by allowing voice commands to be transcribed to text. You can check out the new feat in this demo.

The new beta also comes with better extension management as it now blocks the installation of new add-ons deployed by third-party software.

A fresh “new tab page,” which features a search box, is also under experiment in this release.

Additional changes available refer to better support for HTML5 time/date inputs and WebGL error handling. There are also plenty of goodies for developers.
