Workaround for uninstalling it on Windows 8, when set as default browser

Google updated the dev channel for Chrome browser, incrementing the build number to 24.0.1290.1. It is available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame) and brings to the table stability improvements.

The new revision repairs the problem with clearing the browser data, which would not be carried out with PPAPI flash plugin disabled. Another fix addresses the issue with synchronization for default apps. Also, a set of three crash bugs have been eliminated.

In the version for Windows 8 there is a problem, known to the development team, which prevents the user from uninstalling Chrome. Upon initiating the uninstall action, the browser might launch in Windows 8 mode instead of running the uninstall routine.

The workaround is simple, though; you have to set a different browser as default and then proceed with uninstalling Google Chrome.
