Google updated the Dev channel for Chrome browser, incrementing the build number to 29.0.1547.18. The release is available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame) and contains fixes for several crash bugs as well as other modifications.

One of the glitches fixed in this build refer to the Omnibox’s inability to reflect the “select all” state of typed text even if it is updated (page redirect); this addresses a race condition regression upon editing URLs as the address redirects.

The new Chrome Dev hides the recently introduced “Sync nothing” option, which kept the users signed in but stopped the data sync process.

This is because some services still depend on the synchronization engine’s activity. Basically the developer returned to the regular sign in/out configuration.

The developer also informed that the issues with the theme service on Windows Aero Glass have been fixed and that shortcuts are no longer created for web apps upon installation on account that the chrome would crash.
