Google rolled out an update for the Dev channel of Chrome browser, for all supported platforms. The new build number for Mac and Linux is 31.0.1626.0 while for Windows and Chrome Frame it is 31.0.1626.1.

The current revision does not introduce new features, but focuses instead on eliminating bugs and, more importantly, on improving the stability of the application.

However, the developer announced that the glitch affecting Google Maps Preview has not been fixed yet. The problem consists in failure to load the layout properly on the first try.

This problem has been spotted on Windows, Mac and Linux, where the browser would render just a grey screen instead of the proper map. Reloading the page multiple time will eventually bring up the map for the requested location.

The stable release of Google Chrome is not affected by this bug, though.
