Windows Blue, the first major Windows 8 refresh, is reportedly in the works right now, as Microsoft is planning to bring several improvements to an otherwise disappointing platform.

Google used this occasion to poke fun at its longtime Redmond-based rival with a product called Gmail Blue, clearly supposed to mock Windows Blue and to envision some of the features to be bundled into the future Windows 8 upgrade.

“We were faced with the challenge: how do we completely redesign and recreate something while keeping it exactly the same? The result is Blue,” it’s mentioned during the video. “It’s Gmail. Only bluer.”

In case you missed the news, Microsoft also took a jab at Google with a special Bing page that mocked Google and made fun at the confusion sometimes created by the world’s number one search engine.
