Halo: Spartan Assault was only recently launched on Windows 8, but the game is already enjoying a terrific success in the Windows Store.

At this point, Halo is the fourth most popular game in the paid games category, with more than 1,000 ratings and approximately 700 reviews.

Angry Birds Star Wars remains the clear leader, followed by Reckless Racing Ultimate and Bejeweled Live, all of which have arrived in the Store a long time ago.

Halo: Spartan Assault comes with a very appealing feature package that includes 25 levels, several weapons, vehicles, and armor abilities, weekly challenges, and Xbox Live support for online leaderboards.

“Halo: Spartan Assault brings the excitement of Halo combat to touch-based devices for the very first time. Battle your way through 25 action-packed missions against the Covenant as you explore the origin of the Spartan Ops program and Halo 4's Spartan Commander, Sarah Palmer,” the app description reads.
