Windows RT tablets are becoming a lot more popular these days, especially since a group of software developers managed to jailbreak the operating system, but here’s another hack that could help you make the most of your device.

Published on the XDA Developers forum, this simple registry trick is said to improve keyboard response and to provide a so-called “small item manipulation,” which basically means that you should get a faster Windows RT tablet.

So simply navigate to this path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TouchPrediction

and change the key for latency from 8 to 2. In addition, modify sample time from 8 to 2 and restart the tablet.

It appears that, in some cases, the hack could affect the overall battery lifetime and this could actually be the reason why Microsoft has decided to go for these settings. Try out for yourselves and let us know what you think.
