It's 11 years old, but it still remains a very popular browser all over the world. Internet Explorer 6 is currently installed on 6.3 percent of computers worldwide, even though IE10 is already on the market and Microsoft is getting ready to launch version 11.

But according to Net Applications data published on the IE6 Countdown page, Chinese users seem to be more or less addicted to this old version of Microsoft's in-house browser, as it currently has a 24 percent market share in the country.

Other countries still running IE6 are India (2.8 percent), Taiwan (3.5 percent), Russia (1. 7 percent), Vietnam (1 percent) and South Korea (1.3 percent).

“Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we're in 2013, in an era of modern web standards, it’s time to say goodbye,” Microsoft writes on the page in an attempt to convince users to move to a newer version of IE.

The good news, on the other hand, is that Internet Explorer 10 has started to take off. The default Windows 8 browser currently has a 15.36 percent market share which makes it the second most popular IE flavor on the market after version 8 with 23.52 percent.
