Windows 8 has often been described as a rather confusing operating system, especially because of the UI changes and the Metro interface that Microsoft introduced in this new version.

But Stephen Landry, CIO of the Seton Hall University, one of the educational institutions that made the move to Windows 8, says that getting used to the new OS is just a matter of time, with only basic training needed for those less experienced.

Landy said in an interview with InformationWeek that students “took to Windows 8 immediately,” while faculty and administrators indeed had to spend a few minutes to discover the changes implemented in the operating system.

"But usually if I spend 10 minutes explaining the navigations, [so] most administrators become comfortable with the new interface,” he explained.

Windows 8, on the other hand, will soon undergo a major transformation, as the tech giant is preparing to debut the first update packing not only UI improvements, but also some new features. The first public preview is set to be released next month at BUILD.
