Microsoft is expected to unveil the new Surface with Windows 8 Pro this month, with our sources hinting that January 29 may be the day when the new tablet could go live.

Microsoft has started sending out invites to media officials in Brazil for an event due to take place on January 29, but the company refuses to provide any other details on this.

Neowin.net writes that the Brazilian press conference may not bring the Surface Pro, but a different kind of unveiling, such the one of Windows Phone 8 that is yet to be released in the country.

Microsoft, however, confirmed in late 2012 that the Surface with Windows 8 Pro would hit the shelves in early 2013, but the Redmond-based software firm had decided not to provide specific details on the launch.
