Codec packs are still must-have for many Windows users out there, especially for those who haven't yet installed a full-featured video player that needs additional third-party files, so it's no surprise that this kind of apps are still getting quite a lot of attention.

Such is the case of K-Lite Codec Pack, one of the best solutions of its kind that received an update only a few minutes ago.

Version 10.5.5, which is actually the latest stable build that's available for Windows users, comes with improvements for the built-in modules, so expect multimedia file playback to be smoother after deploying the update.

According to the official release notes, this fresh build comes with MPC-HC version 1.7.5.146, LAV Filters 0.61.2-35-g6c73517, GraphStudioNext 0.6.1.389, Icaros 2.2.6 b1, and Codec Tweak Tool 5.8.2.

Of course, K-Lite Codec Pack continues to offer support for pretty much all Windows versions currently on the market, including Windows XP, which is unsupported by Microsoft starting April 8. This codec pack, however, will continue to work on Windows XP, so keep an eye on future releases if you do not wish to update.

All in all, there's no doubt that this is great news for everyone, especially for Windows XP users, so download K-Lite Codec Pack Full 10.5.5 to get all improvements on your computer too.
