Kaspersky launched today the release candidate for both Anti-Virus 2014 and Internet Security 2014.

At the moment, there aren’t any official release notes available about the new features added through the beta testing period.

The interface has been redesigned for compatibility with Windows 8’s modern UI and with touch screens implicitly.

As far as the appeal of the new interface, early adopters are on the fence, some giving their thumbs up while others accusing lack of usability, especially when it comes to more advanced configuration.

The developer announced a decrease in resource usage for the new version of the suites and touts support for Connected Standby technology that is available in Windows 8 and is designed to send the device into a low-powered state in order to extend battery autonomy.
