A new version for KeePass is available for download, 2.18, and it brings to the table numerous changes aimed at increasing overall functionality and handling of the application.

One of the most important modifications refers to the update checking mechanism. The component is now capable to check not for the latest version of the application, but also if there are any updates for installed plug-ins, if developers provide version information files.

Newly added in this build are keyboard shortcuts for several actions (copying URL to clipboard, opening it in the default browser and synchronization); on the same note, there’s a new auto-type option: 'An entry matches if the host component of its URL is contained in the target window title.'

Security-wise, exports of plain text KDB4 XML now store the memory protection flag of strings in an attribute 'ProtectInMemory.'

The entire list of new features and changes is available on this page.
