MediaMonkey is undoubtedly a great multimedia player and, given the fact that it’s also available on Windows 8, it allows adopters of Microsoft’s new OS to enjoy its great features without closing the Metro UI.

A new update is now being delivered to Windows 8 users, bringing some bug fixes that are supposed to make the app run more smoothly on all versions of Microsoft’s latest operating system.

According to the official release notes displayed in the Store, the fifth version of MediaMonkey brings patches to resolve an issue that stopped playback on screen timeout.

While no other features have been implemented into the app, MediaMonkey continues to work on all Windows 8 versions, including the tablet-oriented Windows RT flavor.
