Bill Gates accepted Mark Zuckerberg’s challenge and joined the ice bucket campaign with a really geekish video showing him dumping a whole bucket of ice water on himself, but it appears that he isn’t the only member of his family who tries to raise awareness of ALS.

Melinda Gates has published today a similar video on YouTube, accepting Sheryl Sandberg’s challenge and nominating three other persons who should do the same in the next 24 hours.

As compared to his husband Bill, Melinda has decided to go for the classic “raise the bucket and throw water on my head” strategy, so you might find this video less entertaining than the one published by Microsoft’s co-founder.

If you’re curios, Melinda Gates nominated Katie Couric, Stephen Colbert, Yuri Milner, and her daughter Phoebe to join in and raise awareness of ALS. Colbert has already said yes to the challenge and has published his own ice bucket video on YouTube.

Bill and Melinda Gates are founders of the foundation bearing their names and are among the world’s leading philanthropists, trying to fight against several diseases spreading in developing countries, including polio and malaria. In addition to being the owner of the Microsoft empire, Bill Gates is also known as the second richest man in the world with a net worth of $72 billion (53.8 billion euro).
