Metro Commander has received a new update this morning, so Windows 8 and Windows RT users should launch the Store and check for new versions as soon as possible.

According to the official release notes, today’s update comes with a Classic View mode designed for mouse and keyboard use, thus making Metro Commander more appropriate for desktop computers.

“Metro Commander is an orthodox file manager which allows you to manage your files and folders from within the Modern Windows UI interface. Easily create, open, preview, rename, copy, move, delete, search and share files and folders,” the app description published in the Store reads.

Metro Commander can be installed and used on both Windows 8 and Windows RT, and is available with a freeware license.
