Metro PuTTY is a port of the well-known PuTTY client that allows users to create SSH-2 connections from their Windows PCs, bringing almost all original features on devices running Microsoft’s modern OS.

The feature lineup includes options to use Putty keys for quick private key authentication, full screen and resize support, UTF-8 compatibility, save session settings, and an on-screen keyboard.

“Metro PuTTY is a port of the popular desktop app PuTTY to the Windows Store. It allows you to create SSH-2 connections to any device supporting SSH-2 and supports many of the same options as PuTTY. It allows you to save session settings that sync with your Microsoft Account and supports key authentication with PuTTY keys,” the app description reads.

The application is not available for free, but with a $3.99 (€2.10) price tag, so you can only download a trial version of Metro PuTTY for Windows 8.1 to try out some of its features.
