Metrotube is at this point one of the most popular YouTube apps on Windows Phone and, since Google has already expressed its intention to stay away from Windows 8, porting this kind of apps to Microsoft’s new operating system is clearly a huge opportunity for third parties.

Lazyworm Applications, the company behind Tweetro+, confirmed for WPCentral that a Windows 8 version of the famous Metrotube app is in the works right now and could be released in the next couple of weeks.

It appears that developers plan to offer the app at absolutely no cost, but the company will accept donations through an in-app payment system already implemented in some other Windows 8 apps.

As for the feature package, it remains to be seen whether developers plan to stick to the same list or they will introduce some Windows 8 exclusive options too.
