Microsoft aims to release Windows 10 preview updates as soon as possible and there’s no doubt that users want to see new features going live faster, so the recently released Technical Preview build 9860 brings a brand new option in this regard.

Starting with this build, users are allowed to choose how fast they want to receive updates, with two options currently available, namely fast and slow.

While their names are pretty self-explanatory, these options are also enabling Microsoft to get feedback on a number of features faster. Needless to say, users who decide to get the new preview builds faster should expect more bugs, while those opting for a slower cadence might get a slightly improved experience.

Microsoft promised to release updates and improvements for Windows 10 Technical Preview at a faster pace and the very first patches for build 9860 were rolled out today, but it remains to be seen how often systems configured for the fast update cadence would actually get new features.

At the same time, Microsoft is betting big on user feedback, so the fast option should actually be used by testers who have the knowledge and the time to send suggestions to the company after finding new bugs and problems in the features they try out.

It goes without saying that they are among the first to take some tools for a spin, so their opinion is quite critical not only for Microsoft but for everyone else, too.
