The newly-launched Windows 8.1 Preview also comes with a testing version of Internet Explorer 11, but it appears that the company is also planning to bring the browser on Windows 7.

Engadget reports that Microsoft has confirmed during the BUILD developer conference that IE11 on Windows 7 is one of the projects the company is working on right now, but no other specifics have been provided.

As you probably know by now, Windows 8 was shipped with Internet Explorer 10, the first version of the browser that came in two different versions for desktop and Metro, respectively.

A few months after the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft also ported Internet Explorer 10 to Windows 7, so users of the world's number one operating system can also surf the Internet using the tech giant's latest in-app browser.
