After announcing a new name for SkyDrive, Microsoft is planning to rename another important product in its portfolio in an attempt to boost its consumer appeal.

ZDNet has come across some screenshots posted by livesino.net which indicate that Microsoft could soon rename Office Web Apps to Office Online, with all built-in productivity tools to get the same rebranding.

Word Online, Excel Online, PowerPoint Online and OneNote Online would all be part of the suite and will boast a similar feature package available from any browser out there, just like it’s currently the case with Office Web Apps.

There are no details as to when this new rebranding is supposed to take place, but if the report is indeed true, expect more information to be announced in time for the BUILD 2014 developer conference in April.
