Microsoft, Google, and Apple have been named top Canadian employers in a survey conducted by Universum, an employer branding organization that questioned nearly 200,000 business and engineering students on their preferred companies.

The Globe and Mail is reporting that business students picked Google, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Microsoft, and Apple as the top employers, while engineering students went for Microsoft, IBM, Apple, BMW Group, General Electric, and Intel.

“The reason why these employers are seen as being attractive is due to their strong association to attributes that students consider important, such as market success, professional training and development, and providing secure employment,” Universum’s Chief Executive Officer Petter Nylander said.

At this point, Microsoft has more than 94,000 employees worldwide and, even though the company is getting through a major reorganization process, no one will be fired, outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer recently said.

The tech giant is investing lots of money in keeping employees satisfied so, in addition to bonuses and monthly salaries, they also get access to the company's latest products, be they tablets, mobile phones, or software.
