Windows 10 build 10147 got leaked earlier today, and one of the biggest changes it brings is the new Microsoft Edge browser that will be offered on all devices running the new operating system, be they PCs, tablets, or smartphones.

As you can see in this screenshot posted online by Russian Windows leaker WZor, Microsoft Edge is included in this build and is pinned to the taskbar and the Start menu for easy access.

Internet Explorer is nowhere to be seen, which is living proof that we’re nearing RTM, as Microsoft has already confirmed that, in the final builds of Windows 10, its old browser will no longer be pinned to the taskbar but will only be available through the Start menu in the All Apps section.

As far as the feature package of Microsoft Edge is concerned, no big changes are expected, so the very same Project Spartan options will continue to be offered, but under a different name.

Microsoft Edge will be the default browser in Windows 10, but Internet Explorer will live on for a while, just in case users come across compatibility issues caused by the new engine. Edge will be offered as a universal app and will work on PCs, tablets, and smartphones running the new operating system. A future update will bring new functionality, including support for extensions.
