Microsoft will officially retire Windows 8.1 Preview tomorrow, but the company will actually remove support, which includes forums and discussions on Microsoft Community, as soon as today.

A notification posted on Microsoft Community explains what’s going to happen today, as part of the company’s plans to remove Windows 8.1 Preview.

“Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview are prerelease versions of Windows 8.1 and are scheduled to expire soon. Therefore, the Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview communities are scheduled to retire on 14 January 2014,” Microsoft explains in a notification on its website.

“When the communities are retired, the preview versions will be removed from the dropdowns, all existing threads will be locked, and you will no longer be able to create new posts for this version.”

Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 will officially go dark tomorrow, with all computers still running it to ask for a reboot every two hours.
