A couple of days ago, I’ve reported to you that most Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 models are out of stock at both Microsoft and other retailers across the United States, which could actually be an indication that the new tablets are selling really well.

In a statement for Neowin, Microsoft said that its tablets are indeed selling like hot cakes, which makes company executives quite excited with how well the device is performing.

“Our primary goal is to get Surface 2, Surface Pro 2 and new Surface accessories into the hands of all people who want the most productive tablets on the planet. The public response to date has been exciting to see and, for those eager to buy, we recommend they go to MicrosoftStore.com, Microsoft Retail Stores and third-party retailers for availability,” a company spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Of course, some retailers across the US still have some tablets in stock, but you might spend quite a lot of time searching for one. In case you wondering, the cheapest Surface 2 costs $449 (€328), while the most expensive Surface Pro 2 tablet goes all the way up to $1799 (€1315).
