Microsoft’s websites are quickly becoming hackers’ favorite targets around the world, as various groups manage to deface the pages by breaking into local domain registrars.

The company’s official website in Kyrgyzstan was affected by a larger attack aimed at servers operated by the country’s number one online domain service. Indian group Indishell broke into nic.kg and changed the DNS configuration settings of several high-profile websites, including those belonging to Google, Adobe, and Microsoft.

While the tech giant is yet to issue a comment on this, the company’s security engineers moved quickly and restored the original DNS entries, thus bringing the website back online.

A similar attack was also reported earlier this week, with Microsoft’s websites in Kenya getting their DNS settings changed by a Bangladeshi hacker. The company has confirmed the attacks, but emphasized that no harm has been done.
