As I’ve told you recently, Microsoft could bring back the Start Menu in Windows Threshold, in an attempt to fix its modern operating systems and make them a bit more user friendly.

Now Microsoft watcher Mary Jo Foley is reporting that “there may be more concessions” coming to disappointed Windows 8 users who didn’t like the new Modern UI, as the company is trying to fix its public image and get closer to its buyers.

The new Start button would finally make sense, as the existing version in Windows 8.1 does nothing more than to launch the Start screen and get users to the Modern UI.

In Windows Threshold, on the other hand, the Start button would launch a traditional Start Menu, similar in functionality with the one in Windows 7, but most likely featuring a revised and modern look.

Of course, Microsoft is yet to confirm all these plans, but expect the company to reveal more details about Windows Threshold in just a few months, as we get closer to the official launch date.
