A top Microsoft engineer and software designer has left the Redmond-based software giant to work for rival Google on a similar position.

The New York Times is reporting that Blaise Agüera y Arcas, who worked for the development of Microsoft’s very own Bing Maps service, will be responsible for machine learning at Google, the same source adds.

“He was a great colleague and we wish him the best in his future endeavors,” a company spokesperson confirmed the move, even though Blaise Agüera y Arcas is yet to publicly talk on his decision.

In the meantime, Microsoft continues its Scroogled campaign, attempting to let everyone know that Google is turning to some unfair practices to sell ads. At this point, the Scroogle campaign includes efforts aimed at Google Search, Shopping, Gmail, Google Aps, and the Chromebook.
