One of the updates released by Microsoft on Patch Tuesday broke down lots of Windows 7 computers and led to Blue Screens of Death due to what seemed to be an incompatibility issue with some third-party security apps.

The tech giant today released a new update labeled KB2840149 that addresses the “Moderate” security issues described in MS13-036, while also trying to repair the bugs experienced by Windows 7 users with the previous bulletin.

The new patch is currently being delivered to Windows 7 workstations via Windows Update, even though some users clearly stated that they’re unable to boot into Windows due to the faulty initial update.

In addition, Microsoft has also released a Windows repair disk that should help affected users uninstall the KB2823324 update and thus get back into the operating system to download the new bulletin.
