The Surface Pro 3 is already here for everyone looking to replace their laptops with a tablet, but Microsoft is still trying to boost sales of older models, including the Windows RT-powered Surface 2.

The company recently announced a $100 (€73) discount for all Surface 2 models in the United States, thus making the device even more affordable, as it’s most likely struggling to clear inventories.

The Surface 2 with 32 GB of storage space is now priced at $349 (€265), while the 64 GB version can be yours for only $449 (€340). Last but not least, the 64GB model with LTE support is also discounted, so it’s now on sale for $579 (€440).

The Surface 2 isn’t exactly the best laptop replacement, but it still has what it takes to perform certain tasks on the go. For example, it comes with a 10.6-inch full HD display, 32 GB or 64 GB of storage space depending on the version you choose, and 2 GB of RAM coupled with an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor.

All models come with Wi-Fi connectivity and, if you choose the 4G LTE connectivity, with on-the-go Internet access powered by AT&T in the United States.

Microsoft says that the Surface 2 can provide up to 10 hours of battery life, but real-time tests have shown that an autonomy ranging in between 6 and 8 hours is more likely.
