The Surface Pro 3 is indeed a powerful productivity machine, but its price continues to be an issue for many people worldwide, especially because the top-of-the-range model retails for about $1,950 (€1,500) in the United States.

Starting today, however, the Surface Pro 3 can be yours in the United States with a $100 (€74) discount, and if you do decide to buy one, you also receive a free sleeve.

This means that the top version, which comes with an Intel i7 processor and 512 GB of storage space can now be purchased for only $1,849 (€1,630), while the entry-level i5 configuration with 128 GB of storage space now costs only $899 (€750).

The Surface Pro 3 is Microsoft’s most advanced tablet to date and was released in May 2014 as a device that can also replace standard laptops, including Apple's very own Macbook.

Word has it that Microsoft is already working on an upgraded model that could be launched later this year with Windows 10, but details are very scarce for the moment.

And yet, we've heard that the next tablet could only be called Surface 4, given the fact that Microsoft is ready to dump the Windows RT sibling, so the company won't have to make any difference between its tablet models anymore.

Basically, there will be just a single tablet running the full version of Windows, but instead of the Pro designation, Microsoft will only call it Surface.
