Microsoft has launched a new contest aimed at small and medium-sized businesses in Thailand that are still running Windows XP, thus trying to convince them to upgrade to Windows 8.

The so-called “Get2Modern SME IT Makeover Contest” campaign started by Microsoft calls for enterprises to upload a photo of their existing workspace and explain why they need to switch to Windows 8 Pro and Office 2013.

The winners will receive Windows 8 Pro notebooks and tablets, as well as transition services worth $6,000. The contest will officially end on June 15.

As you have probably heard by now, Windows XP will no longer receive update and security patches as of April 8, 2014, so all users are now recommended to upgrade to either Windows 7 or Windows 8, which are both considered much safer operating systems.
