Microsoft has just released a freeware version of its Gunpowder game for Windows 8 and Windows RT, thus giving users who love the app a chance to play it without paying for a license.

The freeware flavor comes with 125 levels, while many more are available in the paid version, also compatible with both Windows and Windows RT.

“125 levels of puzzles and mind-bending mayhem await as you blaze a gunpowder trail across the Wild West. Save the day using flaming wagons, Gatling guns, chandeliers, cannons, mine carts, and more! Burn your way through each puzzle and crack the safe with a cleverly placed powder keg!” the game description published in the Windows Store reads.

At this point, this is one of the top games in the Windows Store, so go ahead and download Gunpowder for Windows 8/RT to see what’s new in this freeware version.
