Microsoft has just announced a new benchmark for Internet Explorer 11, thus trying to show developers that its new browser is really capable of providing an advanced experience as compared to its rivals.

Called Holiday Lites, the new benchmark is based on modern technologies, such as HTML6, CSS3, and Flexbox, with Internet Explorer 11 clearly achieving the best score of all browsers on the market.

“This demo shows how IE11 updates content incrementally rather than needing to layout and render the entire page after every DOM manipulation. It uses a broad range of technologies including HTML5, CSS3, Border-Image, Flexbox, MP3 Audio, Power Efficient timers, and more,” Microsoft said.

We’ve run the benchmark in multiple browsers and IE11 gets a score of approximately 2 seconds, while all the other apps, such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, exceed the 10-second threshold.
