14 DAY TRIAL // The software giant has launched what it calls the “Microsoft by the Numbers” website, a brand new stats service that shows the latest figures concerning its own products.
Based on the design of the Windows 8.1 Start screen and its own live tile concept, the new website shows data not only on Windows 8, but also on Skype, SkyDrive, Xbox, Outlook.com, Windows Store, and Bing.
For example, the page states that Microsoft has sold 100 million Windows 8 licenses, while Outlook.com has 400 million users. The Windows Store has seen 250 million downloads from users, while Skype members spend up to 2 billion minutes per day using the service.
Microsoft is trying to end on a funny note by mentioning that about 554,000 pizza slices and an additional 250,000 personal-sized pizzas are consumed each year by hungry employees in the company cafeterias.
