There’s no doubt that Microsoft wants to move as many users as possible from Windows XP to another platform before April 8, so the company launches more and more campaigns supposed to lend a hand to those still running the ancient platform.

This time, Redmond has released what is being called AmIRunningXP.com, a new website that’s only supposed to tell if your system is still running Windows XP right now or not.

Of course, it could sound pretty stupid for many of you, but Microsoft says that it’s actually supposed to help confused users who are unsure about what version of Windows they are using.

“[It’s] a website designed to automatically tell if a PC is running on Windows XP or a newer version of Windows like Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1. If it detects Windows XP, the website provides guidance on how to upgrade ahead of the April 8th end of support deadline,” Microsoft explains.

As you can see in the photo included in this article, the website automatically detects your Windows version and in case you’re still on XP, it can provide assistance to move to a newer platform, such as Windows 7, 8, or 8.1.

At the same time, Microsoft has also announced that starting March 8, all Windows XP users will get notifications to upgrade, as support for the OS will come to an end on April 8.
