Microsoft will launch Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11 next week, so the company is getting ready to push the new version of the browser to Windows 7 users as well.

Windows Update will obviously be the only channel used for shipping IE11 to Windows 7 consumers, so the company has now launched a toolkit to disable automatic delivery of the browser.

“To help our customers become more secure and up-to-date, Microsoft will distribute Windows Internet Explorer 11 as an important update through Automatic Updates for Windows 7 SP1 and higher for x64 and x86 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and higher for x64,” Microsoft said.

This Blocker Toolkit is made available to those who would like to block automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 11 to machines in environments where Automatic Updates is enabled. The Blocker Toolkit will not expire.”

As you know, IE11 is the default Windows 8.1 browser, but since Microsoft claims that this is the best version of its app so far, the company is also offering it as a separate package for Windows 7 users.
