Microsoft is again trying to fix touchscreen issues on 535

Ever since Microsoft introduced the new Lumia 535 in late 2014, the company has been struggling to repair what seems to be some touchscreen issues impacting pretty much all devices.

A first firmware update released recently indeed addressed the problem for some people, but it turns out that a number of 535 devices are still suffering from these touchscreen issues that are causing scrolling lag and an overall slow experience when browsing the phone's menus.

And yet, Microsoft is again trying to fix this problem with a new firmware update, which, according to WindowsMania, is being shipped right now via the Windows Phone Recovery Tool.

Basically, you need to plug the phone into your computer to see the update, but Microsoft is also expected to ship it OTA in the coming days.

Right now, it appears that the new firmware version is indeed addressing the problems, but we're also hearing reports that some other improvements are also included in the release. The Windows Phone version also gets bumped from 14226 to 14234, so a number of other bug fixes and performance optimizations could also be part of the release.

Keep in mind that the update is currently available via the Lumia Recovery Tool only, so there's no other way to get the new firmware right now. We've reached out to Microsoft for more info on this and a potential release OTA and will update the article when we receive an answer.

If you decide to update your device via the Windows Phone Recovery Tool, make sure you create a backup first because you'll lose all your apps and settings during the process. A complete configuration is then required.
