Nearly 20,000 employees of Capita will be moved to Office 365

Microsoft has signed yet another important deal for its cloud strategy, this time with European outsourcing company Capita.

The Channel writes that approximately 20,000 workers will get access to Office 365 services by the end of the year, with Capita spokesperson calling the product cheaper and more cost-effective.

But an interesting term of the deal is privacy, as moving data to Microsoft servers might raise some concerns following the company's involvement in the PRISM scandal.

It appears that Capita's data will be entirely hosted on European servers, so the service “complies with all current data protection regulations,” as the company says. This means that the NSA cannot request access to their accounts, as all data is stored on the Old Continent.

"Capita will use the technology to improve its own internal productivity and to work more effectively with its clients and suppliers," a company spokeswoman explained.
