14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has already expressed its intentions to bring more top-notch and affordable Windows 8 devices to the market, but it appears that the company has silently adopted a different strategy.
According to Acer President Jim Wong, the Softies are now willing to support PC manufacturers on the market to create high-end Windows 8 devices, even though it’s not quite clear if this help only comes down to information and technical support.
Wong told the Wall Street Journal that Acer’s Aspire R7, the convertible laptop that got to see daylight last week, was developed together with Windows 8, most likely in a joint effort to better optimize the device for Windows 8.
What’s more, Acer has already joined Microsoft’s program to continue development of smaller Windows 8 devices, so expect to see a plethora of 7- and 8-inch tablets reaching the market and running Windows Blue by the end of the year.
