Microsoft published the Law Enforcement Requests Reports a few days ago, revealing that it has received more than 70,000 requests from state authorities across the world last year.

While the company emphasizes that it respects users’ privacy, it also confirmed in this report that it has submitted personal information almost every time it was asked to, including to the Belarusian KGB.

The State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus asked Microsoft to provide details of 35 different Skype Accounts, according to Charter97.org. While no logged conversation has been submitted to state authorities, Microsoft did provide users’ personal details, which include names, conversation times and email addresses.

Microsoft claims that out of the 70,655 requests it received last year, 69 percent came from the governments of Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
