14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft Office is said to be the number one productivity solution on the market, even though lots of new alternatives have been released lately, most of which come with freeware licenses.
A research conducted by Forrester reveals that 85 percent of the organizations are now running MS Office 2010, while 51 percent stick to MS Office 2007.
Only 22 percent of the respondents have already installed MS Office 2013, while 13 percent have jumped ship and embraced Google Docs. Open Office and LibreOffice are said to be used by only 3 percent and 2 percent of those included in the survey.
“Just 22% of respondents are on Office 2013. Another 36% have plans to be on it. Office 2013's uptake will be slower than Office 2010 because fewer firms plan to combine the rollout of Office 2013 with Windows 8 as they combined Office 2010 with Windows 7,” Forrester said.
