Microsoft has recently confirmed that Outlook 2013 would be launched on Windows RT tablets, but no other details have been provided.

Now Paul Thurrott of WinSuperSite says that he received a testing version of the app to determine whether it affects battery life and performance of a Windows RT tablet.

At the first glance, it looks just like the x86 version of the desktop email client, he says, and is part of a larger ARM-based Office package that also includes Publisher, Access, InfoPath, and SkyDrive Pro.

While Microsoft hasn't commented on the possibility to see these apps landing on Windows RT too, this is clearly a sign that such a plan is at least considered right now.

As for the Outlook 2013 RT client, expect full details to be unveiled on June 26 at the BUILD developer conference.
