14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just announced a new contest launched in collaboration with connected car company Mojio, that aims to collect ideas for good Windows Phone apps that can be used in cars.
In an announcement today, Redmond says that the car-related apps have to be included in one of the five available categories: green, gamification, business, fleet, and wildcard. While their names pretty much speak for themselves, a full description of each category can be found in the box after the jump.
All submissions need to be included in a video where you detail the idea for the app, and if you are picked as winner, you will receive a $1,000 (€730) Visa gift card and, at the same time, get apps highlighted by Mojio.
Entries must be submitted by February 12 and only five ideas will be picked for the grand prize that will be announced on March 2.
“The contest taps into a recent hot trend on the connected-car concept. What’s a connected car, you may ask? Consider it a ‘smart’ vehicle–one that’s connected to the Internet for various applications,” Microsoft explained in a statement.
Fortunately, there's absolutely no limitation regarding your location or age, so in case you do have a great idea for a car-connected app, this is the right time to send it to Microsoft and even get paid for it.
