Now that Microsoft has an Indian CEO, the company can go on with its efforts to attract more Indian IT talents, so it’s now planning to open a new excellence center in West Bengal.

A report by India Times reveals that Microsoft is already holding talks with the local government over this new project, with the company pointing out that its new facility would significantly contribute to the overall growth of the region.

“There is tremendous talent in West Bengal. We are setting up a centre of excellence in the state the details of which are being worked out,” Managing Director of Microsoft IT India Raj Biyani was quoted as saying. “Engineers from the state work in MS offices globally. We are eager to participate in West Bengal's growth story.”

The new project needs to be first approved by India’s authorities and only then the company can sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government.
