Windows 8.1 RTM is just around the corner and even though MSDN and TechNet subscribers can already download it, Microsoft has prepared several goodies for the final build set to go live on October 18.

McAkins Online came across a screenshot posted on the official Windows website that shows a new live tile for the Windows Store displaying some of the featured apps available for download.

While the Windows Store came with a live tile from the very beginning, it was only displaying the number of available updates, so it appears that Microsoft is planning to change this behavior in 8.1 RTM.

Of course, the new option is very likely to work with the large version of the live tile and it could be part of the new round of updates prepared to go live a few days before the official debut of 8.1.
